Yes, I am a nerd...a very big nerd and here is proof. I've been watching Kiro play Twilight Princess and noted the way all the items appear as a giant wheel in the inventory screen. Later I was walking around Hobby Lobby and found this nice burnable wooden plate. Hmmmm...
After much cursing and frustration, here's the finished product. I still need a lot of practice as far as burning is concerned, but I'm fairly pleased with how it came out. The images were traced from icons I found online (not an easy task).
I've been wondering what to do with it now...should I color it with pencils or maybe even paint, or just leave as is? I'm afraid if I do anything more I'll do irreparable damage, but at the same time, color is so much fun Let me know what you think!

Shouldent! If the burns make a little groove in the wood (Which I think they do dont they?) then it will actually enhance the lines by seeping into the cracks moreso than the flatter surface, therefor deepening the color. I'd go so far to say that I'd make sure they were, and give a very light sanding with a fine grit to the whole surface, just enough to get the color of the burn around but not in the edges off so that the lines stand out more.
That turned out really well!
You know, you can make your own stains...
If you really want to play with color, that is ;)
