The ski resort I work at used to have a fleet of these.
There is one left as a decoration at the indoor waterpark.
I was compelled to paint one awhile ago for a few reasons, but mostly because I don't paint things like this. I struggled, and honestly its not my strongest painting, but its different and I learned a lot. Im a little self conscious about it haha D:
PS CS3 and a tablet

that is a very small image, I used my own photos of the one from work to get more of the detailed parts because I don't know what goes where and how it works
ALSO WHAT IS PERSPECTIVE??

My mate and I are doing a colab right now... She wants me to design a meta city and do very light line art of it, then she'll go in and design the characters and colour everything... We'll see how it goes, but I have a feeling it's going to be one of the most epic pieces either of us have ever worked on.
You fool, if you took a moment to read the text you'd see that this was an experiment-- for the artist's benefit. It's not unusual at all to "copy" a photo in order to work on techniques. The fact that the artist says he learned from it is reason enough for doing it, whether or not it satisfies your measure of creativity.
No no no you misunderstand. I can see how my words were misinterpreted, but what I meant with what I wrote is that this art is drawn so well that at first glance I thought it was a photo. As is the case with much of Heinrich's work, it looks incredibly realistic and I initially thought it was a photo not a drawing. Hence "you can draw photo's", I should have said "draw photo quality works" or something of that nature. My words were only ever meant to compliment not criticize. Sorry for the confusion =)
