I hate the mandatory family visits and such... I mean... I can visit family any day.. why does it have to be on x-mas? I'd rather be on the couch with a beer watching crappy movies, snow outside, kids playing etc etc..

Well, all this is due to tradition. But you're right, you don't need a holiday or birthday or any other kind of event to visit your family. <:3

But Thanksgiving and Christmas are real special events that bring EVERYONE together, with all families everywhere coming together for one day. <:3
You can have time for yourself anytime you want, but Christmas comes only once a year. ;3
