heheh, yeah, the EX-OS project is coming along nicely, don't you think?
however, the second tether is a high pressure hydraulic line, anchoring the device pretty heavily to it's non-mobile power source.
that and there is no head support or digit manipulation yet.

WE'VE GOT A FULL MECH SUIT that's kinda tethered to it's 2-ton power source...brilliant, eh?
and on the note of japanese mecha anime, they've got a working, in production, electrical, neural impulse based system for 'medical use due to the aging populations and assistance in hospitals' ..yeah, ok, and so you don't have a working full body combat system yet, right...
basically, we're pretty far behind on the mobility aspect, however the EX-OS system does have them way beat out as far as user compatibility and dynamics.

i think the jap medical one looks kinda like a bit of a bluff
i believe that it works to some extent but i think they basically took a few springs and small motors and decorated it with some smooth plastic and glowing lights
o and look around the links on the Berkley sight; for some reason i think they used the actor from MASH to work the old mech arm. to bad there is a big curtain behind him hiding the rest of it :3

thats the thing,
my dad works as a MEngineer for the Dep. of Def. but he spends most of his time writing about what he wants to do or fixing it up so it looks good just so that he will continue to look good and get funded
then he never gets a chance to do half the stuff he wants to do
the other thing is, a lot of the projects at his work are the same projects they had 10~20 years ago. they are still working on them, constantly updating them with the newer and newer tech., but they keep changing the name of the projects every time they do something just to make it appear on paper and in speeches that they really did something and they are now on to the next thing
its all political and bureaucratic, thats the one thing i really hate

thats all i got to say about our progression, both tech wise and population wise. we are gona ruin the planet; kill off most of the plant and animal life; and then we will begin to die, starve, or kill each other.....
