F5 if it looks jpeg'd!

Sometimes I try to draw humans. With varying degrees of success : D Each one is an experiment?
With a lot of my characters I have no idea how they would look if they were actually human, but sometimes it's fun to try to figure out how to translate features and whatnot. And it's just something completely different to work with. Storm's is probably the one I'm least sure about (really the more I look at it the more I'm sure it doesn't look like her at all), but there are a few close seconds. Starting with Shadowfire (who I sincerely hope would have a different name if he were human, haha). If you can't tell from the way I hid him behind a bunch of leaves = D I also totally forgot his scar in the newer sketch, oops. For the record I think Storm would have black hair; Mira I'm not so sure about. Brown maybe? Dark brown? Which obviously doesn't correlate to her wolf fur colors but I don't think it has to. And I have no idea how to pick skin tones. For eye colors I mostly just let them keep their species-innapropriate original ones but I did try switching a few to something more human-normal.
I think Mira's sketch is my favorite. The newest one of Rook I also like, even if I think it's a little too similar in some ways to the couple of times before this I semi-successfully drew human!Aureus. It's a step in the right direction though, I think? Maybe I'm starting to figure out how to draw hair. Facial hair not even close though. Eyelashes are a similar situation, further study is needed. I aaaalmost didn't post the row from 2013... I'm going to hope they show the progress since then though? = D

All the characters are mine except Mama, who belongs to Shinkoryu14 of deviantart ~ Pretty sure I got the headband-hairstyle idea from Zolarise's (also of dA) human!LaF sketches. :D I wish I'd found the sketch and not the line layer though, I always feel like there's something off about the drawing when I try to refine these like that D: Hence why a lot of them are left pretty rough.

aaaaaaaa I'm so on the fence about posting this but I decided to just go for it and hope I don't regret it later 8I
I have one more art trade to do, and the sketch/line work stuff is going really well. I'll be without my computer for a couple of days though so I'm hoping to be able to finish that Sunday (midterm studies and SEASON 5 OF THE WALKING DEAD :la: permitting) or more likely Monday.

On an FA-specific note it really amuses me that I can put this under the Human category and I still get to pick a species. In light of that fact I've decided these are all scorpions.
