So I've been thinking about what type of animal Zephyr is (because when I made him, I myself had no clue what he was) so I did a bit of research. Apparently, Zephyr means "Light wind" or "west wind". A little more research shows that Zephyr comes from Zephyrus, who was one of the Anemoi and the Greek God of the West Wind. So this came to be!

Zephyr is actually from a long line of wingless and flightless dragons known as Zephyrus. His family is nearly extinct due to attacks from Eurus (the species similar to Zephyrus, but represented the East wind). When Zephyr was given up to the orphanage as a baby, the name "Zephyr" was all he was given, though the caretakers thought that was his name, and not his actual species. The caretakers didn't know any better though, seeing as this species was thought to be a myth at the time.

Though Zephyrus cannot fly, they have air-like powers (such as being able to control the wind, and with more power, can control weather). They have characteristics of both mammals and reptiles. They're generally a very peaceful species, unless provoked. The ones that are still alive today live in hiding out of fear of the Eurus. Zephyr is one of the few who actually walks with the other furs.
