I guess the reason I love Exos so much is that in many Scifi settings, you usually see humans fighting monstrous aliens and robots, and more or less stand on their own. I like the idea of Humanity, facing a monstrous foe, either becomes monsters themselves (transhumanism, genetic splicing), or creates monsters (robotic warriors, uplifted animals, genetically created lifeforms) to fight back said foe.

I agree with you, though it's a shame we don't see much of the city we go out of our way to protect. We don't even see any conflict of any kind within the walls. It would really spice up the feel of the game if we saw a rebel faction of one race or so creating a threat inside the city. Showing us players that even with the end slowly forming around us, breaking down our stronghold, that WE can become our worst enemy the longer we fight against our so called "end".

Actually, that is implied in the game. You know, the three factions you can take up Banner for, Dead Orbit, New Monarchy and the Future War Cult (and I guess the Vanguard too). They do fight for control inside the city, by sending able Guardians with their insigna into those gladitorial battles.

Thing is, since Guardians can rise from the Dead unless they're killed in Darkness Filled Zones, its really more about making a point. Basically a faction saying: "Look, if there was Civil War? Look at our Guardians. They totally demolished the Guardians of the other two factions in the last few matches on Venus. See how powerful we are?"
