(LoA) Cosmanian - Leader of the Council
I was raised to lead a simple life. My life was devoted to being a caretaker of a shrine. One day, however, I found myself slipping deep down in to the glacier that covered half of my continent. An icy cold bath awaited me in it's depths. Within that water I saw a light. I was drawn to it like moth to a flame. I had to know what was there. I was never this curious.
I don't know what drove me onward. As my surroundings grew dark, the light grew brighter until I finally broke through into a chamber of air, the water hung above me in an impossible manner. The cave wasn't being flooded. I could only call it magic but I knew magic didn't exist, or so we were taught, being cut off from the rest of the world.
Inside the cavern, I followed the light until I saw a sword, laying there, embedded in crystal. As I approached I heard stirring. I looked around. Nothing. A little bit closer, with outstretched hands, I touched the crystal. It stirred awake, the crystal moved. It was the first time in my life that I was genuinely frightened.
I heard a calming voice telling me to approach, and though I was hesitant, I slowly approached as the crystal began to take form. It was a creature I had seen before but only in legend. It was what was called a dragon. What caught me off guard was when it spoke further. "Ah, Keeper, I see you have finally arrived. I have long awaited for this day.
"It would seem that my rest has finally come to an end, and so has yours. Take my spirit, go in to the world. Save it from the peril that it is currently in." I was astounded that this formation was talking to me like that. What bothered me was it's message and it drove me to ask, pushing my fear from me, "Peril? In the world? I know nothing of the outside world. What could possibly be wrong with it that we aren't aware of? In addition to that, just who ... or what are you?"
It responded causing surprise to come flowing over me, "I am the spirit of this planet. Of Alem. The very embodiment, yet I do not reside in the planet itself, but in this sword you see here. I am the creation of Ohmagas, the creator of all you have seen and all you will see. This blade alone was one wielded by him on his journey long ago. He set course to let this world be monitored by a group, but the time has come to free the world from the corruption that has seeped in to them. To free them and yourselves. Find your companions, start the council anew."
Before I could question anymore, the crystals turned in to nothing but essence and wrapped around before melding in to the blade that floated there. It took much courage to take that first step forward as many things weighed heavily on my mind. Conviction filled my heart and I took hold of the blade and the world around me began to change. My clothes clung to me. I stopped breathing but didn't need to breath. My skin became hard and started to become clear. I was turning in to the crystal dragon, in to Alem!
The water from outside began to rush in and surround me. I didn't feel the cold of it. I swam against the water and then upwards, crashing through the glacier above and erupting in to the sky and the crystal clear wings unfurled letting me see much of the Land of Blades below.
New
Exciting.
Words raced through my mind. There was an adventure waiting for me and I was going to see to it that I was going to take them head on.
