A bit of ambient writing (recommended soundtrack: http://youtu.be/HemLFVHhBUg). I used to write a lot, though not so much anymore. Lately, I've been trying to get back into it. This is a prologue that I created to go with a story I wrote a long time ago called Disguised Dreams. Everything in the prologue above is an actual event. The rest of the story is about someone who transforms into a raccoon in a dream, only they can't tell it's a dream, and they try to overcome their fears and anxieties. While the story ultimately comes to no conclusions, it raises plenty of questions, and is deeply philosophical.

A great prologue! Kinda makes you want to read on. There's enough plot elements to build on from here. The narration is easy to follow and you did a neat trick with the soundtrack. Listening to music while reading helps a lot to convey the atmosphere, feels a lot like watching a movie, really.
