Born into Clan Elsis.

Devlin and his "half-twin" Laurel (different mother, same birthday) are survivors of Shawnee's ascension to tri-wing status. While most of Shawnee's clan members allied themselves to her solely for the increased power that comes with having a true Clan Leader, Devlin is known to back Shawnee on a personal level as well, despite losing his father and brother in the attack that led to her ascension. He cites her behaviour immediately after ascending as the reason for his support, though he refuses to expand on what she actually did. As one of the few clan members to truly trust her, and because she personally rarely interacts with anyone other than her own clan, Devlin serves as Shawnee's intermediary when her clan wishes to speak with her, while Laurel serves as her representative in clan interests outside clan territory.
