(Story by Koviell Sashermasock)
Warmaster Leto's map is accurate, we can see the orcish outpost. There is a fire and people aren't moving much, they're probably resting. Malekiev seems eager to get there, he speeds up the pace.
"Slow down! Don't tell me that you're so eager to take a life?" Ask Kalsed.
"A life is worth only if it could bring me a challenge, fiend." Spit Malekiev.
Everyone else remains silent. We were close to the outpost.
"Let's follow my plan. I get there and I take care of the big one." Whisper Malekiev.
"What about us?" Grunt Warthryn.
"Don't get in my way." Answer Malekiev.
Silent as an arrow, Melekiev sneaks to the camp, hiding in the shadows. Warthryn follows him, with some distance. Kalsed and I wait some time before moving. I can clearly see the camp from here. I can see about twenty orcs. At least half of them are covered in bandages. One of them is scouting around. Two of them are giving medical attention.
Suddenty, the scout falls on the ground, sliced into two parts. Before one of the medic says a thing, he received an axe right in the face, hurled by Warthryn. The remaining ones still standing and a few woundeds are fleeing.
"This is no revenge, it's a butchery. There is nothing honourable to claim from an enemy that can't fight back." Grunt Kalsed.
"Should we do something?"
"This won't make any difference. Those two have a lust for battle. They're like beasts wanting to make the blood flow at the throat of their prey." Answered Kalsed.
We can hear orcs falling, yell in pain and fall loudly on the ground. It takes about ten minutes before the place become silent. Warthryn is the first to come back, with some cheap jewelleries.
"Where's Malekiev?"
"He was wrestling with the big one." Grunt Warthryn.
"He's fighting him alone?"
"I didn't need anyone." Said Malekiev. I didn't notice that he was hiding in the shadow.
He shows himself and we see that his clothes and face are covered in blood. He is holding the head of an half-ogre in his hand.
"Don't worry, this blood wasn't mine. He didn't want to die too quickly. I had my time with him." Said Malekiev, before he grins.
"This wasn't a proper revenge, it was a butchery." State Kalsed.
"I call this training. If you're not happy, fiend, you know that you can get lost." Threaten Malekiev.
"Be careful with who you're calling 'fiend'. Between us two, you already know that you don't want to mess up with me." Spit Kalsed.
They glare at each other for a while.
"Out of my way." Whispered Malekiev before pushing Kalsed aside, moving in the direction of the elven village.
He was quickly followed by Warthryn, leaving Kalsed and I behind.
"He needs a good slap on the head."
"He needs more than that. I just home that he won't cause another slaughter. Anyway, let's go back to the village. I don't want to stay there any longer." Said Kalsed.
We head back to the elven village to meet up with Warmaster Leto. He is still writing in his book.
"You're there already? Did you get hurt?" Ask Warmaster Leto.
"This blood isn't mine. It was an easy task. Here's the proof." Said Malekiev, before dropping the head of the half-ogre.
"The orcs should leave us alone for some time." Tell Warmaster Leto, before noting something in his book.
"I'm waiting for more of them. Only the big one was worth fighting. It was more a training than anything." Express Malekiev.
"War is no training. Anyway, I had words of the Elder. He would like to see you in the great hall." Said Warmaster Leto.
"He wants to thank us already?" Ask Malekiev.
"No, not yet. Actually, he wants to see your friend over there." Answer Warmaster Leto before pointing at me.
"Me?"
"Yes. He has something important to discuss with you. You shouldn't make him wait any longer." Explains Warmaster Leto.
Why does he want to discuss with me alone? Did I do something wrong? I have no idea. Better not let him wait for too long. I go at the entrance of the great hall. I hope everything will be alright.
