I love them, as I love both fluffy things and Dragons so had to get Angel as one. I told her to keep the markings Angel had and add in any idea's you think would fit well with it all. I can't say enough how pleased I am with the piece. It's utterly adorable. Next I will have a feral done with this pattern/specie and eventually a full blown reference sheet <3
More information about the species can be found here:
Dra'Essa are a mammalian subspecies of Dragon. Unlike traditional dragons, Dra'Essa are land dwelling creatures covered in thick coats of fur that are suitable for survival in any climate. They have no wings nor the ability to breathe fire, but they make up for the lack of flight and elemental breath in speed, stealth, and superior hunting capability. Dra'Essa have both an anthro and feral form and they can easily change from one to the other. Feral Dra'Essa's vary in height and can be any size from the size of a large breed dog to the size of a horse. Their build is very sleek and lithe and almost serpent like with long thin limbs and elegant fingers and toes. Their "hair" in both forms is simply an extension of the fur on their neck and scruff and almost always looks the same in both forms. Their sleek bodies allow them to creep and squeeze through tight obstacles that they would never normally be able to get through in their anthro forms. They are completely silent and swift on their feet which makes them incredibly deadly hunters. Their thick coats are also somewhat water resistant due to special oils on their skin and fur which repel water in a similar fashion to birds. These oils, as well as the slight webbing in between their fingers and toes allow then to be very skilled swimmers and hunters underwater just as well as they are on land.
Most dragons often have whats known as a "third lung", which is where the elemental breath power of many traditional species of dragon would come from. Dra'Essa also have this third lung, but it is used as an oxygen reserve when a Dra'Essa is submerged in water. This lung fills up with four times the oxygen that its regular lungs would normally hold and gradually feeds oxygen to its normal lungs as its needed. This allows the Dra'Essa to remain submerged in water up to 20 minutes before needing to come up for breath.
Dra'Essa's color patterns are as unique and varied as birds. some have even been known to grow feathers where crests of fur or hair would normally be. Their bodies easily adapt and change according to their surroundings and lifestyles. Females are normally known to wear more bright and lighter colors where males typically sport darker coats, however males with light coats and females with dark coats are not uncommon.
Dra'essa are social creatures and can normally be found in tight knit family groups or tribes. Its not unusual for a Dra'Essa to be loner, but its alot more common to find them living among their own kind, often with a very strict social structure rivaling that of wolves.
Dra'Essa are a closed species that can only be obtained through their original creator via custom commission or auction.
