Summary:

The colored bits were created with Apophysis 2.09, while the black and gray portion was created with Photoshop CS6.

This was created using the following default plugins: linear, fan2, rings2. There are three transforms, each with a different setting for the last two plugins. It was incredibly fun to make! ^^ Also, the entire thing looks like it could have been made in Photoshop, which is kinda fun. Surprise, it's from Apophysis! :-P The colored portion does have a slight stroke and (on a separate layer, to make the colored portion bolder) an outer glow effect added to it.

Time:
An hour and forty-five minutes - five or so minutes adjusting the flame, forty minutes for the render, and another hour in Photoshop.
