An 'oldie but goodie' from
that I don't think our group ever got around to posting !
I put together another recipe this time a more season appropriate desert. :3 and one of my favorites. Apple Crisp is sort of special for me since its one of the things my sister and I used to make together when we were younger lol.
Ingredients:
4 Medium Apples (granny smith are my preference)
3/4 Cups brown sugar (packed)
1/2 Cups Flower
1/2 Cups Old-Fashioned Oats
1/3 Cups Margarine or Butter (softened)
3/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
3/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
OPTIONAL:
1/2 Cup Walnuts and or Pecans (chop them if you use them)
Directions:
Heat oven 350F
*Use shortening to grease the bottom of a dish about 8in square.
*Peel and cut up the apples and spread them on the bottom of the dish => Link
*Mix all the other ingredients in a medium bowl and spread over the apples. (if you like a thicker crust then double the ingredients except the apples)
*Bake for about 30 minutes
and its done! :D
Its best when eaten while its still warm and even better with pecan ice cream on the side.
