Thanks ^^ my models will usually have anywhere between 300,000 and 500,000 hairs. I tend to use more if I went to do a close-up render, 300,000 usually cuts it for most of my renders.
That would make rendering a lot easier. I currently only have a 1GB GTX460M, though I don't render with it because it's slightly slower than rendering using my CPU.
