No, that particular one was chosen purely on aesthetics. Haruka liked the way it looked and "Super Strats" have a great pedigree of shredders from that period.
I mean, if memory serves correctly, I believe Randy Rhodes, Eddie Van Halen, Ritchie Blackmore and all of Iron Maiden's guitarists either use or used a Stratocaster or a derivative thereof... :P

Aw, it's fine, don't worry about it. I don't get offended, I go out and prove people wrong. XP
I was actually more hoping someone would comment on all the hard work Lillian did rendering a Tama Granstar kit for Kataou to pound the crap out of. Those cage racks had a thousand little greebly parts...

I think I've said this before but the artist of this piece usually does more natural works, so the fact that she got all the little wingnuts and rubber grommets down is really spectacular.
Ooh, and since you mentioned guitars, this totally slipped my mind earlier - ESPs are also the traditional weapon of George Lynch, who is IMO the best American metal guitarist alive today.

What's your issue with Lynch's guitars? No offense, I'm actually curious.
As far a guitarists go, Vai and Satriani are definitely up there. I had the pleasure of seeing Chickenfoot covering some Deep Purple songs a while back and it was amazing. Talk about an unusual lineup but there ya go.
Also, if memory serves correctly, I think Joe Satriani is an Ibanez guy and the Radius he started off using was a superstrat too, right?

There, see? And I think that was a totally bog-standard Strat that had only had some minimal tuning and modification work done...

I was hoping to get more of a multi-talented artist out of Vara for this one, something more in the vein of Jeff Pilson... no offense to Hill or anything, but there's a reason why most Priest music videos or concert recordings hardly give him any screen time at all while the six-stringers are stealing the show.
This is inspiring! I wanna draw something musically themed like this someday. c:
Also, shall we do a "link the rock song" game here? CX We can interpret the image as a way of imagining what song they are performing in the image we see. C:

I'm game, the instruments themselves plus the location of the fingers and the vocalist appearing to be in the middle of a high note, i think they're playing Dracula by Iced Earth.

in particular i think this is the chorus or just going into the solos

Hi! I'm the one in the front. The song that's "actually" being done at this moment is Lightnin' Strikes Again by Dokken. The high note you're hearing is right around 3:18. This is a perfect song for a singer with a voice that can really hit the high notes, plus two deep backing vocalists for the outro lyrics. Oh whaddya know, I've got two burly dragons for just such a thing... :3
Oh yeah. Check the version in my gallery, it's got a setlist attached for what I'd think a concert by this band might sound like and it's pretty heavy with Priest classics.
I didn't put anything in from Painkiller though. While it's probably one of their best albums, it's stylistically a lot difference from Defenders of the Faith or Screaming for Vengeance and doesn't really flow well with some of the other tracks.
