This is part of my Tuskbuddies exchange that
captaingerbear organized. This is one of the draft-sketches I got, drawn by
k0uya then finished by me. This was fun! I haven't done any art of females in a REALLY long time!
Here's K0uya's original sketch.

There you go: http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2.....um-d2ym3dq.gif The colors for trolls ingame range from minty green over light and dark blue to purple. They also have a broad range of colors for their hair, red, orange, pink, purple, white, blue and green. Also that braided hairstyle isn't uncommon for them. http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress.....ft-720x463.jpg
So there certainly is a semblance. I guess nobody complains though, she looks really cute.

Nice! :) I haven't seen the WoW trolls. Honestly I just wanted to give her a pretty shade of dark green hair, and chose the sort of blue-grey skin to complement it. I've seen orcs be anything from green, to grey, black, bluish, even orange. And I'm not upset about it at all ^o^

They have a broad spectrum of colors which vary from franchise to franchise, so they also are quite colorful in WoW. The common orcs players encounter the most are green. The player can also create orcs in different shades of green, one skin tone of the old models was almost yellow and looked rather unique. With the first expansion players learned that demonic corruption turned most orcs green, even generations after they redeemed themselves. Before the corruption they had a brown coloration. Players also encountered red fel-orcs as enemies, so that are the predominant colors of orcs in WoW. The range between green, blue and purple was always troll territory, at least in WoW that is, although the nightelves also kinda run with the purple color. Considering the trolls might be the ancestors of the nightelves in WoW lore, there is no surprise in similar coloring.
Still, a cute girl.

WoW has found its stride when it comes to lore. Every Warcraft game before WoW was kind of vague of some story aspects and also of some of the maps, they often shifted between games and even the DLC of Warcraft III, The founding of Orgrimmar which would lead directly to WoW was had kinda different map design than WoW had. But apart from the differences of earlier games and occasional contradictions in earlier established lore it's very consistent now. The story arcs are accompanied by expanded universe short stories, books and comics and the arcs lead directly from one expansion into the next now. Also there is now good character development for the lead characters involved, although most players seem to care more about their damage per second and item levels than lore.
Yeah. That mindset kinda ruins the fun. Of course hardcore raider often say that they really enjoy the game but are among the first to suffer burnout like symptoms because they focus to much on endcontent equipment spirals and daily grinding instead on all the other entertaining aspects the game provides. I was told more than once I didn't know what the game was all about or how to play, but I still enjoy it today while the people telling me how to play or what to turn my attention towards and who were to obsessed with being the best all left long ago. I knew how I could keep things interesting and took breaks, both, short and long, every now and then when the game seemed stale, to prevent me from being bored to death in between content patches. I guess I didn't was so wrong after all...
Possibly to keep the casual gamers entertained... That would probably have been their answer. But well, they are just a fast exchanged and replaced vocal minority. Still, some RP aspects have vanished in thin air, even on RP realms. I think it's mostly because people don't really expect to find other players who are still caring for those things these days.
