A blocking exercise I kept adding to like an OCDer. Eventually a refined picture of this mermaid will be done, because desjardini (sailfin) tangs are amazing fish. Just needed to get a feel for it before doing a better one.

Well, meh comments will get meh answers.
It is not odd if you know the fish species is all I'm talking about... But of course it could be better, and the fin can go down as well if she so pleases. Something tells me you would have a similar feeling towards a batfish or freshwater angelfish mer.

Or we could just laugh about the comments even and see the humor within. I mean seriously, meh comments get meh answer doesn't always good so well.
For the batfish, depends on which kind of batfish you're referring to. There's more than one "batfish" if I'm understanding things right. For the freshwater angelfish, I seen plenty of those guys in book, videos, and in real life or a angelfish mermaid wouldn't surprise me.

Genus platax. The height of the dorsal and ventral fins are much more extreme than this, and I have a friend with such a mermaid. Freshwater angels also have much taller (though narrower) fins or "humps".
And "holy crap... D:" doesn't across well on any art gallery. I don't know how you expect anything positive to come from a comment like that on someone's work.

Just wanted to clear up something that my last reply didn't. When I saw "meh comments get meh answer doesn't always good so well." comment I meant that sometime commenter and commentee misunderstood the mood and meaning of each others statement. When I made my comment about the fin, I wasn't trying to insult as I was merely joking around. Your reply to it implied that you was annoyed by it for whatever reason, which was not my intentions. Maybe joking about her fin wasn't the best idea around, am I right?
