In my gallery. It's called Taniwha. Beware, it's a novel length piece of writing, broken up into 19 sections. And it's not furry, but does have interspecies (human/alien) sex in one section, but is otherwise 'mainstream'. It is where my Vanguard 'came from'.

Interesting to see a relatively-slim looking Vanguard specimen. Her colouring and shading is pretty damn good.

Yeah, it's quite a bit different than the overtly muscular versions that I've had the other artists do. But then, I generally just give a basic description to them and let their imaginations go wild. Personally, I think the results are much more interesting that way.

I still think it shows a lot of strength to me, I would not want to piss him off.

Possibly - although the artist for some reason has refused to speak with me since finishing it for some reason. And I have no idea why, I paid up before the pic was commissioned, and have said nothing but positive things about it, and her to anyone.

It is indeed quite shiny, almost looks metallic, like certain fish scales do. Very good build and segmented plating. Looks fairly well constructed as an organic creature.

Aside from my own personal biases in finding certain things attractive, I tried to have some sort of reasonable, scientific/biological explanation for Vanguard physiology. Although the stacked arm placement (horizontal instead of vertical) would mean they would actually have fairly weak arms if they existed, but I glossed over that You cannot accurately depict anything metallic or shiny in digital art, but you are quite right, the iridescent look still comes through very well, which is a credit to this artist's incredible talents.
