Continuing on with sharing some of my inspiration from nature... It's that time of year, when spiders are all sorts of popular, and in high population! I've been seeing jumping spiders of this species everywhere this fall, they're just too cute <3 This is the same spider, different angles.

That's really cool. I'd get nervous around jumping spiders. They are cool to look at though.
I had a coworker try to scare me by telling me a brown recluse was in my office. I know enough about spiders to know better. Have you had people try to scare you with spiders before and taken joy in their shock at your calmness?

Agreed, they really are visually fascinating!
That's awesome that you were able to tell the difference. When someone mentions brown recluse, most of the time people just go into that herd mentality panic before they even see the spider. Out of curiosity, what was your coworker's reaction? I haven't had that specific situation yet, (although I wish I did, that would be hilarious!). People are usually confused by my gentleness with spiders though, it throws people off to see someone not reacting with "kill it!"

He said "no, I'm not kidding. That's a brown recluse. Really."
I said "If that was really a brown recluse, you wouldn't be looking so calmly at it while its moving toward me."
I made a halfhearted attempt to kill it, but I got a good laugh when it went under my file cabinet, waited until I moved my foot, came back out to stare at me, and then go back in before I could even move.
