Nîswayi the Great Sequoia - Falcon's Home by Rhyu
Meet Nîswayi. She is a lovely magical tree that Falcon has taken a final permanent home within.
Excerpt from my story:
"My run through the forest was pleasant. The sun was on it’s way to setting when I came out the exit of the trail. I stood at the brushline and gazed upon the sequoia, my home, and took a proud look at her. Her trunk was as wide as a house all the way up with an ornate trimmed door in her center with polished wooden stairs leading to the front door and the tiny lantern above the door glowed but drowned out by the waning sun. On her side was a small stove pipe with smoke puffing out from it’s end. Window panes hung all the way to her bough where the top had a white spindled balcony with many wind chimes gently serenading the air with their melodies and where white drapes blew from its open window. Her branches were grown wide like a green umbrella that shaded the land below. Later, I would find or make items that would hang from her branches such as, many glaring glass bottles filled with liquid, which refracted the light into tiny rainbows and stars from the sun setting behind her, glass mobiles that would create new bubbly silhouettes with each rotation, and objects that would glow in the night to look like will-o-the-wisps and fireflies floating about.
As I walked closer, I noticed more fine detail. The door had celtic knots tightly woven within them and the wood looked hand polished. The steps felt smooth under my paws. I turned the handle and opened the door. The smell of fresh pine pushed with the air coming from inside. I could not have been more amazed at her work. All of the stationary furniture, such as bookshelves or counters, was made from her own wood. To the right of my was a kitchen, fully stocked with cutlery and cookware. There was a wood burning cast iron stove with a tea pot of boiling water, which I took off for later. The left of me were tall windows with long mauve drapes with a dining room, placed and matted. The floor was covered in plush carpet. Towards the back wall, was a living area with seats and tables. The back wall had the most interesting arrangement. The back wall had fireplace in its center and a large door to the left of it. There was a overlooking balcony that had another fireplace in its center. The second floor had smoking chairs for pipe breaks and reading. Behind those chairs were books of all types. Both floors had the same large door. Connecting the two floors was a spiral staircase."
