I had this concept of a dragoon that was part basilisk and serpent. I have drawn this creature a few time in the past but never made a clear picture of her.
These creatures are prized game for skilled huntsmen for their skins and their concealed mystic eye. There is very few left in the world and it is said that these beasts have a connection to life essence(magical essence plain) and is the why they don’t have optic eyes. They move though the world with the sight of life from the mystic eye and no one knows if these dragoons have any intelligence more than of a beast.
I drawn only a youngster basilisk here because dragoons are suppose to be mighty creatures and well I think owning a dragoon bigger then a house can be problematic. This concept might change a little depending.
Anyway I know it’s not much too look at but I do hope like it and I like to hear what you think of this.

haha ya its kind of his mount but its not really...its kind of like two partners working together but this one that I have drew is a youngster, the adult ones are way too big to handle. ^^;

I have been a big snake fan for a long time and well wanted to make something simple but cool to ride. ^^
well there is the mythical basilisk which is a serpent of some sort, different culture have different interpretations of the basilisk.(basilisk is basically a giant reptile) The real life one is a small lizard that runs on water...also know as the Jesus lizard. So I took a little from both worlds, something that is mysterious and mythical as well as being fast a strong.

the mystic eye is closes and concealed on its head...pretty much like a third eye but its only got the one. I know that some of the myth surround the basilisk has tails about petrifying victims and stuff and well this one also has it with the mystic eye but it only open when its close to death itself...could say it kind of like a self defense weapon, eye of the reason I keep the eye closed. :P...would be funny to have two of them looking at each other and getting grossed out because of the eye. XP
I try to make it not soo threatening but still something that you would think twin before approaching. Maybe it the shininess that make it look cute or the muscle....or the butt, I don't know. XD
