Pic of myself hard at work done by the hypertalented Dan Bluestone :D That rather ominous looking device in my hand is a micropipetter, in case anyone is wondering.

Micropipetters are used to move teensy tiny amounts of solution around, usually in quantities measured in microliters :P The microcentrifuge tubes we use are really tiny, so you have to be absolutely sure you get the right amounts of sample and reagent in them.
And I like the slim look too - it's a nice change from the huge buff orcas. Not that there's anything wrong with buff orcas...*blush* XD

Haha! I was a bio major at college, too, man. I just graduated in May. I remember those pipets all too well, also all those gels, PCRs, digests, and all that junk. I focused more on ecology though so those things weren't my favorite things. More power to you though! It's important work.
Ah yes the lab. As a doctor myself i get to wear white coats alot, although, the suprise comfort of them is oddly erotic, but yet tantelises power with radification, also makes the class of intelligence seem more intervauled by the wearing of a white coat your automaticly upgraed into my book, nice orca by the way, although what is your major in Conjective Ecology, Ecology, Supjective Ecology, Marine Biology *Lol*, Biological Survaince, Biology, or did you major in other field of science, but from your picture, your wearing a blue shirt is that optional or is that required just to know we here in irland to seperate our students in college labs wear white coats with a line ranging in colour.

so is the t-shirt an option, just to wonder?

I'm afraid I don't quite follow what those fields of science you mention are, aside from ecology and marine biology. In answer to your color question no, here in the states in research we don't separate the students into color groups, you just wear whatever you want under the lab coat. I wouldn't fit into any of those fields you have anyway since I'm mostly in biochemistry and genomics work. I see you have your age listed as 22...you must have much faster program progression over there if you are a doctor already. What is your field?
