Oh I know it needn't be dour. I prefer that. Actually the more grim and dour it is the more hilarious it seems. Any time someone gets super-duper serious over something as light and ultimately non-serious as sex it just looks, ultimately, comedic. It's just sex butthey treat it like it's a major cultural touchstone. That's funny.

Forgive any naivte. As I expressed I'm new at this. Only recently did a friend (very patiently) walk me through the details of proper BDSM as a loving, shared, safe, sane and consentual matter. So I'm evaluating everything through the "proper" rubric. Accorting to him anything outside of absolute agreement is just as much domestic violence as it is in Non-BDSM couples. Violation of safewords and forgetting it's all pretend and all that.

It is serious a lot of the time though. For like these two. Obedience isn't a joke. Autumn will be sassy sometimes but never dissenting (unless like she has a good reason and then it's brought up respectfully). Even relaxed Autumn's still very well trained and subordinate. Like, I don't think it's fair to call it pretend the structures of D/s define the relationship and their roles are the relationship it isn't something you flick off once you're done. I mean with like, 24/7 stuff at least if you're just doing it in the bedroom and you're equals everywhere else like that's another matter I guess.

These two aren't the best though like if you are looking for ideal healthy relationship. Autumn was basicalllllly captured by a monster and broken so like her ability to consent is dubious. Most of it is on tumblr but like Marigold tells Autumn to not bother having opinions of her own which is kind of a huge red flag for an actually healthy relationship.

Goosing is just like you're supposed to push or grab someone's butt when you're behind them to make them jump up in surprise but Marigold is just throwing Autumn's butt into the air that isn't goosing that's just horseplay which is good, because they're horses.

As for the D/s stuff I guess I should have clarified. I mean from an external, non-participant perspective almost everything is hilarious. Sex in general is hilarious. Anyone who takes it seriously is kind of odd to me. You make weird faces and weird noises, sometimes dress up in weirdly elaborate costumes and get into some strange contortions. Stripped of context a lot of that is just funny. Then you add "oh so srs bzns" faces and it can, from an external perspective, look like melodrama or farce. Playing something ridiculous super-straight to increase the comedic value. Once again, that's from an outsider's perspective. I full accept that, embrace, and largely encourage people to laugh at the weird stuff I get into. Sure, I take some things with a measure of seriousness but they have nonsexual elements (interspecies romance between ponies and non-ponies, usually Diamond Dogs, for example) even then they're often funny and can be appreciated in that sense.

In essence everything can be funny. Just ask the Monty Python lads about the plague and crucifiction.
