So are the black rings stretchy? I still have a bag of mail rings that I wanted to make jewelry with buy couldn't find a way to close them the way I would want.

yes the black rings are stretchy, they are rubber o rings which also means you cant open them :P can be a little tricky when first learning to work around them since you cant open everything, but it makes bracelets more comfy to wear imo.
