Another great Frolic planned for you, now that it's finally getting colder, and you can wear all your finest faux fur animal costumes!
This month welcomes some of our favorite local furry djs back, including Blue and AudioDile. 2 djs who always fill the dance floor every time!
And our VJs Skibit and MaliePono will also be throwing down some great visuals!
Now for a couple quick PSA's.
Fursuiters, you may have noticed the fursuit room is getting a little crazy. Fursuit bins stacked floor to ceiling. Which is really crazy considering we have a coat check, which is completely free for fursuit bins, and it's been empty with tons of space in it. Yes, we realize the fursuit room is at the opposite end as the coat check, wish we could change that, but the building is what it is. But you can always check your bin when you arrive, when it's time to fursuit, grab your bin, and then when you're done fursuiting, put your bin back at coast check.
Also, fursuiters, duffle bags make great fursuit bags! I have one made for sports like hockey, and it holds way more than my action packer does. Best part is when I put my fursuit on, I put my clothes in my duffle bag, and it folds up to a tiny little thing. Just think of how much space there would be if everyone used a duffle bag, and the space wasn't filled with mostly empty action packers!
And for everyone else, here's your PSA.
You are not alone in the city. There are other businesses and residents who live there. This includes on the same block as the Stud. Feel free to hang out in front of the Stud on the sidewalk, and in the area next to the Stud. DO NOT hang out and loiter in the ally. I realize some of you feel that it's your right to park illegally on the sidewalk, blast music, or hang out drinking. Do not. Do not even stand there with one other person talking. If you need to have a conversation in private, avoid the ally and walk down 9th street away from the Stud. It's getting to a point where you are all having a very visible, very negative impact on the neighbors, and they are very much not into the noise you are making. I realize every one of you will think it's not you, that you are perfectly quiet, but if you are hanging out in the ally, then you are the problem. If you find a legal spot to park there, great, park, and then walk quietly from your car to the venue. DO NOT hang out and party with your car. We will call the city to tow any vehicles parked illegally (ie, with a tire on a sidewalk or blocking a street, this means the left side of the street).
And if you see anyone drinking, or being obsessively loud, please tell them to move towards the bar. We've got a good thing going here, the venue loves us, tolerates some of the stupid things we do, and it's a pretty decent venue. Let's not mess it up! So it's up to us to police ourselves and not disturb the neighbors, ok?
