So I've started writing a few reviews on anime,
I've dubbed them "Bad anime reviews" not because I'm reviewing bad animes but because I specfically go out and try find the strangest titles, plots or tag lines I can.

Princess Jellyfish is an eleven-episode anime from the same people who brought you Baccano! (Which coincidental is a fantastic anime if you havn't seen it, soon to be reviewed).
The premise
It is a quirky twist on the typical socially awkward 'Otaku' (obsessive geek/Fanboy) story, but the difference in Princess Jellyfish is a gender flip and all the Otaku's are unusually female shut-ins who refer to themselves as the "sisters" or "the sister-hood" due to their celibate, nun like lifestyle. The girls hobbies are half of the fun of this anime each obsessing over their chosen interests which include, trains, Japanese kimono dolls, old men (eh?), ancient Chinese historical texts and jellyfish!
Typically the girls fear outsiders and the "stylish" ones as they call them, so what is going to happen? One comes crashing into their lives, but here's the kicker, this particular stylish who has invaded their exclusively feminine space is secretly a cross-dressing man, Whats not to like!
Now let me tell you about this cross-dressing invader, not only is he a genuinely kind hearted character, but damn does he get some seriously good outfits and because of this there are a hell of a lot of decent cosplays of Kuranosuke out there!
The Plot
The story pans out as your typical shy girl protagonist Tsukimi Kurashita discovering herself with the help of her newly found confident drag-queen friend Kuranosuke. Together they explore the life of society, dating and housing associations, peppered through out with cute little thought narrations from Clara an imaginary Jellyfish tsukimi saved from a pet shop midway through the first episode.
It’s a really playful premise that I personally enjoy however I do find the storyline towards the end becomes a little too expansive throwing off loose plot threads never to be tied up giving the whole anime a feeling of ending mid-series or as though the creator expected a second season.Over all though the characters are genuinely likeable, fun and the storyline full of enjoyable whimsical plot twists, that leave you craving more after it has finished, which I suppose is never a bad thing.
If nothing Princess Jellyfish had taught me everyone can be a princess.. even if that person is a cross dressing man!
