Gem looked up at the bigger version of herself feeling highly confused.

She had heard talking of Halloween and costumes and suchlike but didn't quite understand what any of it meant, all she knew was that she had watched Star be dragged out of the room kicking and hissing and spitting, the kitty lady had looking pretty angry.

It had frightened Gem a little and she had whimpered until Mama came and tickled her tummy, laid her out on her changing mat and changed her clothing. Gem hadn't fussed or wiggled that much keeping herself happily occupied by chewing on her fluffy toy companion, Grub.

Gem kept hearing yelling and banging with the occasional loud ripple of someones laughter that didn't sound like Star coming from upstair where Star had gone off to, but pretty soon all that quietened down.

Slowly the door to the living room had opened and Gem cocked her head to one side feeling confused. As a larger version of herself toddled unstably into the room. She was looking at herself. A bigger version for sure, and where was her big fluffy tail but that was very much Gems strawberry dress. So gem realised that it HAD to be her. She recognised it right down to the booties.

It was then that Gem looked down at herself and chewed her bottom lip. She was dressed in weird colours she wasnt normally dressed in and she pulled at the stiff fabric on her sleeve. She didn't like it, it wasnt bright and colourful, maybe she wasn't her anymore maybe she was someone else. She looked up at the big version of herself, She noticed that big her seemed upset her face was almost the same red colour as the dress.

Gem knew what would make herself feel better and feeling incredibly confused she lifted grub up to the big version of her. Grub made everything better. the big version just folded her arms, blushed brighter red and huffed, much to the entertainment and laughter of the rest of the grown ups in the room.
