This is my character, Tina, dressed up as Jan "Funky Jan" Mouse, from the classic Nelvana animated TV special, The Devil and Daniel Mouse. The animators designed a wonderful array of outfits for Jan, so I decided to "borrow" one of them for Tina in this series of sketches.
The Devil and Daniel Mouse is one of my all-time favorite films. It is included in the Deluxe Edition Rock 'n' Rule DVD -- well worth
picking up (if you can find it).

Yes, a little. But Vixen and Benatar hit their peaks in the 1980's. The Devil and Daniel Mouse was first broadcast in 1978, so the folks at Nelvana were probably inspired by Linda Ronstadt (and it does look like something she might have worn at the time).
Daniel Mouse was, among other things, a wonderfully witty homage to 1970's styles and rock motifs. One of the best scenes is a Funky Jan and the Animal Kingdom concert montage that pays tribute to pop music styles that were popular at the time (glam rock, funk, disco and, of course, the weepy ballad :) ). If you've never seen The Devil and Daniel Mouse, rent it or download it. I think you'll enjoy it.
