The final color piece featuring the Type VIIC Boat will be called "Wolf-Pack on the hunt!" since the entire crew is made up of wolves. This is the first of several sketches I'll be doing to get a feel for the individuals that make up the watch crew in the picture. My first study was of the captain since he will be a center figure in the piece. While they did have official uniforms it is amazing how much non-regulation gear was worn; especially after the crews were at sea and not at port. Still I decided that the captain wears a fairly standard issue uniform. In particular I am trying to get an understanding of the rank structure.
