That's not a onesie. It's a one-piece. Onesies attach at the crotch, but have no legs.

I dunno cause recently at school it was pajama day and a lot of kids were wearing one-piece, but they refer their outfits as onesies x.x

A lot of people also say "literally" when they mean "figuratively". Technically, onesies aren't even called "onesies". They're called bodysuits. Onesie is just the brand-name bodysuit made by Gerber.

Here's the analogy I use. Calling all bodysuits "onesies" is like calling all facial tissues "Kleenex". It's technically wrong, but everyone knows what you mean. On the other hand, calling one-pieces "onesies" is like calling your toilet paper "Kleenex". It's sort of the same, but at the same time completely different.
