You can usually see the differences better if you use bigger number differences. But it helps to make your lines smoother, like how you can have those features with cameras to reduce how much unstable movement shows up, it kinda does that but with lines. It's most helpful for long smooth lines.
Well, you're both sorta right. The important thing for screen display isn't resolution as such, but that you draw bigger than intended display size. Any small imperfections will disappear in the resizing, that way. :)
Which doesn't stop me from habitually cranking resolution up to 300 dpi, mind.
