One of my favorite current webcomics is "Dandy & Company" by Derrick Fish of central Florida. It's the adventures of a mischieveous talking dog and his boy. (Of course, he's not the only chattering canine in this strip; there's his younger sibling 'Mistake', his girlfriend 'Maryweather', and his arch-rival 'Snuffles', among others.)
I had the opportunity of meeting Mr. Fish for the first time at "Pawpet Megaplex" (now known as just "Megaplex"), back in 2005, when it was still held in Orlando (before moving north to Jacksonville). The year before, I'd sent him six comic strip gag ideas with his characters (plus an additional drawing or two, teaming up 'Dandy' with 'Rob Cat'). He posted some of my strips in his webcomic, as part of his annual "Total Chaos" fan art ritual.
Needless to say, Derrick liked my artwork and offbeat sense of humor, to the point that he did a lavish drawing for me at "PPMP" in my Big Black Sketch Book (where I've collected anthroart from a variety of talents since 1991)! Appropriately enough, he chose a 'fat furry' theme for his sketch, having 'Rob' feeding (or rather overfeeding) donuts to 'Maryweather', much to the chagrin of 'Dandy'!...
If you would like to see more of Derrick Fish's art, visit his webcomic at http://www.dandyandcompany.com/ and visit his "Deviant Art" site at http://derrickfish.deviantart.com/
(And, on a personal note, help him out. He just became unemployed, and he is currently selling some of his art - just to make ends meet - until he can land another job... Thanx!)
