A Rhodesian Ridgeback waiting for his master's call. He is the embodiment of loyalty.
This is a special drawing for me, as I was trying to prove myself that I can still draw. Regardless of the pain, I still could. I won't even try to describe my relief. As it is, here is a cuddly dog.
Art by me.

The Rhodesian ridgebacks have some sort of ridge of sticking-up hair running down their back, I think. So no tumours there, which is rather nice I'd say.
I would love to draw more, if only I had the time. We have a long weekend now, though, so hopefully I'll get something else done tomorrow and Monday. Being constantly in pain doesn't really inspire, though. >_<

Or maybe you've been possessed by a demon.
I did a google search for HMS and it doesn't seem like a very uncommon thing. Says there in the internets that this stuff can be treated with... uh, stuff. Maybe you should start going to physiotherapy or something? Maybe it would help if you for example started swimming actively or something equally unpleasant?

Currently, I'm doing gentle exercise in the form of walking and cycling, swimming and going to aqua classes (vesijumppa) when I'm well enough, I take joint supplements, have a magnetic bracelet, continuous pain medication, orthopaedic pillows, I live with hot water bottles and heat patches, and I wear supports for my left wrist and my elbows. Not much more I can do without proper diagnosis. I need a referral for physio and hydrotherapy and need to talk to a doctor before getting a TENS machine.
I'd take demon possession over this anyday.

Well roll me up in honey and call me beesweets.
That sounds like some insane lifestyle... except that I bet you'd rather choose just about any other lifestyle instead of that. That's just sick. Maybe if we managed to summon some demon to take over your body it might actually make you healthier.

*rolls her in honey* Hello beesweet!
It's not fun at the moment, but the main thing is that I can still work, draw and walk. I'm terrified of the future though, especially with the potential prospect of needing a wheelchair. My legs constantly hurting doesn't exactly lift my spirits either.
I'd have Senzam in me - in any sense of the word - any day!!!

*covered in bees, doesn't seem to mind*
A wheelchair? No way! Don't get all depressed because of this thing. Forget the future for a while - you just have to concentrate on taking care of yourself. Do all that nasty stuff the doctors tell you to do and reward yourself afterwards with bubble baths, friends, arts, movies, gay porn. The usual stuff. And when you come over to Finland I'm going to steal you away.

Well, maybe I'll get lucky. The doctors are clueless at the moment, but hopefully after they have drained more of my blood, they might actually refer me to a specialised who knows what they are talking about. I'm a bit tired of being called crazy all the time. Cos obviously I enjoy making up pain like this just to get attention.
Mmm, I like gay porn. I should really draw some, but maybe not while mum is here. O_o Anyways, I look forward to being stolen away by you. And if I'm not well when I come to Finland, we can at least do wheelchair racing in the centre of Turku. ^_^

I'm in pain all the time - joint condition causing chronic pain. My left wrist doesn't really work anymore and I worry my right wrist is going the same way, so I needed to prove myself that despite the pain I can still draw. And I could. For now anyway.
But yeah, I love the pic myself. I'm trying to draw more dogs, so that I can draw a picture of my sister's dog as a birthday present for her. ^_^

I didn't even realize...I just looked at the website for HMS. I'm assuming you've seen it, but it's here: http://www.hypermobility.org/ Sorry I feel like a jerk now.
Oh a brighter note. Buddy was playing with a Ridgeback yesterday at least until the Ridgeback's border collie friend decided to growl at Buddy. We then proceeded to the other field where Buddy and a male collie decided to have a humpfest for ooh some 20 minutes. He's found a new friend woohoo. (dogs are so weird) I really should e-mail you more.

If you really want to know what life is like for me at the moment, read this: http://rheumatology.oxfordjournals......full/40/5/487/
But it's not cheery read. You've been warned.
I'm glad Buddy made a friend, it's good for him to be able to socialise with other dogs properly. ^_^
