In this picture is the private courtyard area of Dantehum. Dantehum is the ancient and ancestral home of Domineus Dan's noble family in the kingdom of Adleria. Adleria is located on the continent of Hyperborea. ^\/^.
This private courtyard is behind the manor and elevated. The manor is eleven floors in height starting from the front courtyard. Access to the private courtyard is either from the manor at the sixth floor or from a flight of stairs that leads to another courtyard two floors down and has gardens and, in turn, is accessed from another set of stairs that leads to the same courtyard that the first floor of the manor shares.
In the picture shown, the manor is located on the left hand side. At this side, the manor is flat and simple paneled whereas on the front it is excessively decorated for show to visitors. On the eighth floor of the manor there is a bridge path that allows private access and leads to the Adlerian temple in the middle of the picture. On the right hand side is a storage room for food and unused household items, among other things on shelves stacked high with lofts for further storage. There is even a small underground storage on one side of the building near the temple and a wine cellar on the other. In the middle of the courtyard is a magnificent statue honoring the legendary first emperor of Adleria, Emperor Adleria I (The First). ^\/^.
At first I would like to say that Domineus Dan is a Catholic and does not follow the ancient Adlerian religion. As such, the temple is largely unused by him and his family, but remains in good condition due to cultural heritage and historical value. According to part of the ancient Adlerian religion, there are 12 noble ancestors of the Adlerian people. Each noble ancestor is an avian god by whom all the Adlerian race can trace their ancestry. I could not draw them all due to lack of room and my idea of where they are placed in the temple, including the sides. For the ones shown, I drew, from left to right, Lord Garuda (a God from India), Lord Nisroch (an ancient god from Sumeria), Lord Raven (a Native American God from North America and modeled after Raven the Trickster from Disney's Gargoyles), Lord Horus (ancient Egyptian god), Lord Tengu (a Tengu god from Japan (couldn't think of any famous Tengu or Tengu gods)), and, lastly, Lord Boreas (a Greek god of the north winds and pictured in various forms, including half man and half eagle). ^\/^.
I have yet to come up with who would be the other six noble ancestors, but I am still thinking on it and I am hoping to find a goddess or two that is an avian and such. Also, the other six would be located on the sides behind the wall thus making a line of statues on the back wall of the temple eight gods and with two on each of the sides against the wall. The temple is long yet not that wide. Gotta save space up there after all. LOL. ^\/^.
In the back, under the bridge, and behind the temple and storage house, unseen, is a wall that borders off the manor and keeps others falling off the sides. The manor sits on top of a natural stone pillar / mountain. The top is large enough for the manor and other main buildings of the noble Dan family to reside on. The path to the manor grounds is a spiral and zig zag like path lined with gates, guard houses, and a number of other buildings and quarters here and there on the way down. The path is mainly on the area on the other side of the area where the wall shown is located. Beyond that wall is a steep, near perfectly vertical drop of nearly 900 feet that quickly slopes. On the right hand side is a wide river below with the town of Dantehum (same name as the manor) is located. A long bridge connects the manor (at the bottom and end of the path) and the town. The town is one that deals with trade, fishing, farming, fine luxury goods and banking. The ocean is not far and the town has a protected inland bay that leads toward the ocean. The manor, at about where the courtyard is shown, is about 1,000 feet in the air. The courtyard has views of much of the surrounding area, not counting the parts the buildings are blocking. LOL. ^\/^.
PS: The language in the picture is called Adlerian and is made up. Please try not to decipher the writing as it is simply gibberish. LOL. ^\/^.
