I literally worked my ass off the last two months to get Chunky (from The Croods) done in time for Youmacon in Detroit. I entered the cosplay contest for fun and I'm a very negative person when it comes to judging myself so while a tiny part of me thought it would be so awesome to win honorable mention, I seriously doubt I would win anything. I entered "novice" since according to the judge, novice is for people that never won before. When they read off all of the awards for novice I was a little disappointed even though I knew I wasn't going to win, but to my shocking surprise I was raised up and put into the journeyman's level without my knowing and I won Best Craftsmanship!! I was so shocked!! I threw my head on as quick as I could and accepted my trophy up on stage. It still hasn't set in that I won something! I'm waiting for a video to come up on youtube just so I can see what the judges actually said since I was trying to throw my head on just after they called my name. I'm still in awe! I'm so glad I went to Youma and entered that contest! I really needed a confident booster <3 <3 <3

I understand that feeling. I've won a couple of things I didn't expect to win at all since the first one, there were at least a good few hundred people there and the chances of getting a winning poker hand (the highest at least) were slim and yet somehow I got it. And the other was a raffle and I didn't think I'd win it either but somehow I did. O___O And both came after having a really bad point in my life too so I've come to the conclusion somehow, I get a bad point in life and Karma and the Universe turns around and says they'll give me a little reprieve in return. O__O Kind of a positive and negative thing I guess. Have to go through horrible stuff to get something in return. Lol. Weird. I just give up trying to understand how all that works and just go with the flow. Lol.
