Another Thursday Prompt of 365 Words!

"Please, can't you let me out?" the tiger said, fingers curling around the bars, eyes luminescent in the dim light. The basement smelled of mold, the cool darkness keeping the feline from feeling the summer afternoon heat.
"No, I'm sorry, I don't think that would be a good idea," said the canine in priest's robes at the top of the stairs. His hand was on the doorknob, and was in the process of closing the door, shutting the tiger into a world of darkness.
"Why are you doing this?"
The priest paused for a moment, considering his answer carefully. "No one's ever asked me that before. You're also the first to not scream hateful things to me." He shook his head briefly. "But to answer your question, God told me to take you, and I obey His commands."
"God...told you?"
"He did. He told me you were a devil, preying on the weak and sick." The priest paused for a moment. "I admit, you don't seem like you're evil, but I obey Him, even if I don't understand what He asks of me."
"But I've never hurt anyone."
"Are you trying to tell me God is lying?" There was an sliver of anger in the priest's voice now, and the tiger quickly spoke.
"No! It's just that...I'm innocent."
"No one is innocent."
"Please...don't do this."
The priest felt moved by the pleading in the tiger's voice, but he hardened his heart, murmuring "I'm sorry." He then closed the door, hearing the faint click of the doorknob over the drowning whine of the tiger left in the darkness.
Entering the kitchen, he made himself a cup of coffee, adding a dollop of cream and a healthy amount of vodka. He was sipping it when he heard the soft padding of feet entering the kitchen.
"You did well."
The priest looked up to see the tiger, smiling beatifically at him like an angel. "So have I proven myself worthy?"
"Completely. You were moved, but you kept firm."
"When do I begin?"
The tiger (angel?) continued smiling. It was somewhat unnerving. "Tonight. There is a husband who abuses his daughter. Here's what you must do..."
