Wow this one was a lot of work and math and weird complicated sewing. xD I love the end result though! The fin parts are painted with a gradient from green to orange, but the green didn't photograph very well, I think because the fuchsia is so bright, but the ends of the fins are similar to the flesh base in colour.
The fuchsia is minky and everything else is fleece.

The seam is a continuation of the seam that the side fins are sewn into. It's there partially because of that, and partially because minky does have a nap, or direction, like faux fur. So if it was all cut out of one piece then the "fur" would be going sideways on half of the tail.
