Hello Everyone,
kensingshow and I were chatting about the days of yore when cassette tapes were the way to go for portable music. Battles were waged between Sony, TDK, Maxell, BASF and others but the tape that stuck out at the end of the era (in our opinion) were the Sony UX-Pro 90 cassettes. It was the ultimate for portable sound reproduction! Ceramic guide heads, metal frame, and Chromium Oxide magnetic media for low hiss. The little thing weighed a ton and cost an arm and a leg but they were worth it. So here's our tribute to days gone by and our love of portable music. Now the car audio decks to play them was a whole different story...

A buddy of mine was once lamenting the loss of the user's manual for an old but serviceable calculator. I suggested he got to "Old technology we used to think was cool dot com". His daughter, probably 15-16 at the time asked. "Is that a real site?" I initially said no, but then amended it to a probably.
She typed it into the net as a search criteria and actually found a site.

Pretty sure I still have my portable player in storage. I can't recall the brand, but it was the 'pinnacle of technology' from its day. Split audio controls, reverse play function, and chrome compatible. I remember having to align the heads on that thing to eliminate cross talk, and learning about how the tracks were stored in the process.

"I am Groot."
Translation:
The music of that era may be nice to listen to, but the tape is prone to getting jammed in the internal mechanism of the player.
Would be advisable to upgrade to a recording medium that has no moving parts that can get tangled or severed.
