Hmmm I don't think beards make characters look cold or serious, in my drawings it's the complete opposite up 'til now all characters who had beards were totally cute and yes somewhat silly but still adorable.

ooo cool! glad im not the only one who has a incest and mind breaking fetish (^/////w/////^). and i can relate to some of this. my fursona was designed to retain a innocent/friendly look but at the same time be not who i am but who i want to be. which apparently from all the artwork i commission is a slutty blue wolf that lives in magical fantasy themed worlds (>/////>)

i can also relate to the ears thing ^^;. although for me its nipple biting. i like pleasure not pain and id be seriously turned off and possibly upset irl getting my nipples bit (>///>) ear biting too if there not gentle. both irl and as my sona >w< and ya irl if i got put in the spotlight id probably either start crying,run away or worst case scenario faint. im painfully shy of such things. im ok with standing out alittle but the spotlight is too much for me x3

A beard makes him look cold and serious? I would say that depends on the characters face and expression, and not any facial markings or facial hair.
Regardless, may I try drawing a beard onto him? I won't post it anywhere on FA, but I will link you to it via Imgur or such.
