You really should play his games, especially Door to Phantomile and Lunatea's Veil. Just don't look at any videos beforehand.

Well I was thinking Door to Phantomile before since I think that's the first one.

Yeah, Door to Phantomile is the first game, while Lunatea's Veil is the direct sequel. I remember the original Door to Phantomile over the remake though.

Is there anything better in the original over the remake though like the controls or no? because I'll probably read to see what I hear about it before I decide playing anyways.

The controls are similar to the original, although the overall gameplay was made much easier. The visuals are better, but lack the charm of the original, and that includes the script of the game, which was changed around in the remake. That may not mean anything to you, but the story was more prominent in the original game.

No its fine I can probably emulate either one. I was just wondering about the controls since its a wii game but I might give up the better graphics if the writing is better though.

The only "wagglan" functionality is a feature that stuns enemies with a whirlwind, which is exclusive to the remake. Other than that, there's nothing else. I do think the original would be a better choice, as the difficulty is pretty much perfect for stage-to-stage progression.

In addition to Omega's comment, there's also extra features in the remake such as English VAs (which suck, but you can always switch to the Phantomile VA who is still voiced by the same VA as in the original game), extra modes, extra costumes, and a gallery.

I think the Wii version has both upgrades and downgrades from the original. The game and graphics itself are improved, but the characters don't leave as much of an impact on you as they do in the original. I personally played the Wii version first before the original.

The original is an underrated classic of its time, and the innovation in its gameplay definitely was different compared to other action/platformers in said era.

The remake is definitely catering more to the nostalgia of the people who played it before, and of course, said people's nostalgia are going to nitpick at its flaws that don't make it as good as the original.

I played the remake first so that way I can just love the original even more instead of bashing at the remake as I play!
