One of the hardest parts of being an intergalactic hero is coming to terms with the fact that no matter how good you are at doing what you do, you can never save everyone. There's just too many people in trouble all at the same time, and you can only be in one place at once. This unavoidable reality is usually pretty easy to ignore when you busy yourself with the day to day business at hand, but sometimes you land on a planet only to find that the distress beacon you were following has been crying for help for centuries after the calamity that wiped out its owners came to pass.

Those days are a little harder to get through.
