First pass with inks. So there's a story behind this one. A friend commissioned another artist (who draws humans more than I do) to draw a couple of our Dresden Files RPG characters. They paid this person $90 for the commission... Four months ago. After repeated requests for progress updates and little to no response from the artist (who DID open up for and complete MORE commissions for other people during that time), they finally produced... something. It wasn't what my friend asked for, and it certainly wasn't what they paid for, but whatever. They chose not to pursue further action on the matter, even though the result was pretty clearly a desperate attempt to halfass something to get my friend off their back.

If the artist had done what they were paid to do, the results would have been spectacular, but they didn't. That sucks, and I say that *as* an artist. I don't ever want to treat any of my commissioners in that fashion. It's unbelievably unprofessional.

So anyway, I felt bad because I'd pointed my friend at this artist in the first place. I don't usually recommend other people unless they do something I'm not very good at. In the meantime, though, I've been practicing human faces and features more. So I'm taking a stab at drawing our characters instead to make up for the lame-ass picture that other artist passed off as $90 worth of work. I'm not done with this, but I'm taking my time with it.
