a quick refrence sheet of Lance, more for me than anything.

Appearance:

Lance is shown here with his base armor suit the black vest suit. it's a skintight bullet proof vest, the tail cape is also bullet resistant but much less reliable. the boots are made of the same material as the vest. theres a weak spot in the vest on the side where it was designed to give flexability.

The second uniform on the right is Lances uniform from the Guard (the Parla Royal Guard) the uniform fits over his armor. as you might guess the tail cape hangs out still. the uniform is actually made very weak so it can be shed quickly if needed.

The sliver Gauntlet is also a major part of the Uniform of the Guard. all variations of the guard have the guantlets and are given to the wearer as a symbol forever that they have served on the guard, for example Dash also has a set. Newer versions have the added bonus of being bullet proof

Fighting and skills:

skilled marksman, he's an expert pistol and rifle shot. His size and strength allow him to wield large caliber weopons easily, his favorite sniper being the .50 caliber. He also can use large Blades, a skill acquired in his home village not in the military.

Also from his home village he learned great skill in Blacksmithing. He used this skilled to craft his own blade( which has a bar built in to attach some kind of kindling so the blade can be lit on fire) and his own gun. He also made Renaldo Sword and the pistol blade mechanism in the blade.

History:

Lance is probably one of the only ones here who has not had some big tragedy in his life. he was on the guard for about 6 years and captain of the guard for two years.

Lance lived in the mountains working as a blacksmith before he joined the Parlan military. Showing great skill and leadership he was recruited to the Guard were he later became the guard captain.

The captain of the guard is an important position. Technically the position holds no power in the military ranks and no other office. In practice though the position hold a very high political and military. The fact is the guard members are used to carry out the orders of the monarch be it the late King Weldon or his son the current ruler Prince Wesley. So the Captain of the guard in effect has as much power as if he/she was a chancellor to the monarch.

Now in this Position Lance was not very active and in fact he was more of an ambassador directly performing the will of Weldon and Wesley. Before the positon was abused and previous captains used it to change political events to their favor.

At the time Lance became the Captain Dash was alos being considered. When lance Became the Captain of the guard Dash held great resentment to him. Although the term for the captain is usually four years Lance left at two.

At this time Dash confronted Lance in public because he was not happy that he was being "apathetic" in this position of power. Dash wanted this position to advance his radical ideas. This meeting turned into a violent fight in public (that dash started), the fight started a scandal in the city and Lance quickly resigned from the position taking the retirement pay from the position and all his entegrity intact. Dash was dishonorably discharged from the guard furthering his resentment of Lance.

Lance knew Renaldo because he was good friends with Wesley who just happens to also be their most steady employer. Also they had meet in Zaid before although at the time Lance had no idea Renaldo was a soldier on the run for his life.

Since he no longer wished to be involved in any more politics he joined Renaldo for work and for some adventure. On the crew he quickly became friends with Renaldo and Lucian and showing great skill he again was put in another high position this time First mate, or second in command under Renaldo on the ship.
