This is the cross country ski route for the 1960 Winter Olympics at Squaw Valley, California.
This run is actually at the Sugar Pine Point State Park camp grounds, in Lake Tahoe, California. The run exits directly across from the main park entrance.
The blue disk identifies the Olympic route. Now, a bit of trivia....
The valley floor of Squaw Valley housed not just the Olympic village, but the Blyth Ice Arena, which was the site of Olympic events. The arena was used for public ice skating (which my brother's and I did every summer) until it's collapse during the winter of 1983.
Now... my family had some ties to the old Blyth, and we still have an official IOC letter commending my grandfather for his help with Blyth Ice Arena.
Here's more info on Blyth Ice Arena with cool color photos: http://www.guardian-ministries.org/.....eymemories.htm
