"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields."
- Lt. Col John MacCrae
For all who served and died, for all who served and came home bearing the scars of war, whether of mind or body, thank you for your gift. Let us never forget the dreadful price you paid.

I was watching CBS News last week. They did a feature on the Tower of London. They recently planted ceramic poppies in the moat area surrounding the Tower's exterior wall. One poppy for each British solder lost.
I was fortunate to visit the Tower of London the first time I went to London. But I wish I could go back and see the poppies.

To my Canadian sister-in-arms, thank you for your service. *Salutes*
