Aircraft 122674 is the very same Bearcat I photographed in Yuma, Arizona during the MCAS airshow in March 2011. She's a member of the Commemorative Air Force and was built in 1948.
The Bearcat is pretty rare; out of the 1,265 built, only 15 are airworthy.
This photo, and many others to follow, marks the first time I got to get close-up pictures of the aircraft.

one of the last great piston engined warbirds heh. its fortunate for the Japanese this one arrived to late to see any action during WW2 (though they were in the pacific with VF-19 by May 1945, they didnt see any action)
It actually held the time to climb record from dead stop to 10,000ft for 10 years. (set in 1946 by an unmodified F8F). dead stop to 10,000ft in 94 seconds (takeoff run was 115ft). an overall impressive airplane heh
beautiful shot!
