Chicken Noodle Soup
Now m'sure everyone's got their own recipes fer this an I'd love ta see/hear how ya like makin' yours... One reason m'sharin' this one though is b'cause it's one'a those low-budget, help ya use up left-overs kinda meals ta help ya utilize some'a yer left-overs an stuff... which is pretty much what all soups do anyways heh...
I'll jus' tell ya what all went inta this batch an let you decide if it's a good an resourceful way'a makin' this heh ;)
ingredients:
4 stalks celery
4 stalks green onion
3 carrots
1/2 white onion
2 pawfuls of sliced mushroom (from carton)
1 can chicken broth
1 tblsp. powdered chicken boillion
1 large can of chunk white chicken
1 pack of Ramen noodles
(also added shakes of pepper, sea salt, basil and parsley but feel free ta season as ya prefer)
directions:
in medium sized sauce pot open the chicken broth then add in seasonings and stir ta a slow boil as ya slice up yer veggies. Add said veggies an cover, moniterin' ta preference of softness.
Add in the chicken, juice included, then add the ramen noodles, seasoning included, (as my own added preference I also crushed up the ramen while still in it's bag ta break the noodles down a bit b'fore addin'em)
Cover an continue ta cook, addin' water ta preference of soup thickness... serve with yer fave crackers (chose Townhouse butter an garlic fer this) an enjoy... See?... We wolves don't jus' dress up as grannies we also serve the same cold remedies hehehe ;)

I do something similar to that that I call Noodles Of Life.
What I do is cut a couple of slices of any kind of leftover large hunk of beast like pot-roast, about a cup of the broth if there is any, a cup of water, a pack of noodles and put it all in a pot to heat up the meat and boil the noodles. The seasoning pack can be stashed away with the bullion cubes or something if you used broth, but you should use it and an extra cup of water if there is none. If you want it to be extra hearty then add in some frozen veggies like corn, peas or one of those veggie medley things but try to keep it to small stuff that'll cook through quickly with the meat. Sometimes I even take leftover veggies from other meals and just dump them in to clear out space in the fridge. You never know what kind of beauty you'll discover just tossing things together.
It's easy, it's hearty and it's a good way to pad out leftovers while at the same time making sure those leftovers get used up. It's also incredibly filling and makes primo lunchbox fodder since it only takes a couple minutes to put together,

An excellent, quick, and tasty way to get something warm and use up leftovers. ANd not take all day whipping it up! Nice work!
Wuff is working on a chicken and dumplings recipe that is at the opposite end of the effort-spectrum. The latest batch was delicious, but more like a chicken n dumplings stew than a soup. WAY thick! And it certainly wasn't quick either. Making the stock for it took about 6 hours.
Wuff's sure he would have greatly enjoyed a bowl of your chicken ramen to keep his energy up while working on those dumplings, and the rest! *grin*

My own take on a shoestring budget ramen mod...
3 cans of Chicken Broth w/ Veggies
3 Bricks of Chicken Ramen
3-6 Eggs, depending
Bring Broth to a boil, whip up the eggs, add eggs to broth to create an egg drop soup (Follow an egg drop soup recipe, as there is a technique to not getting a giant lump of cooked egg). It won't be perfect because of the veggies, but it's still good. Bring the heat down to low and add the bricks. Let simmer until the bricks have become noodles.
Salt, Pepper, and Season Packs to taste.
Still, I like your take... gonna hafta try it :3
