EDIT: here is a video I took of the three best stores for fake furs showing off all the fur they had
http://youtu.be/Fflg6W9M-Po
This is what was in all those boxes, so this is 80% of what I got in LA, I have another 44 yards already put away.
The one pile is mostly browns and tans as the internet really lacks a good selection of this color range.
I found what appears to be the discontinued "champagne soft teddy" from CR Crafts/Monterey Mills and bought 12 yards of it, it is a color I used to use a lot so I hoarded a ton of it, and I might be willing to share.
I also bought a lot of the seal mint green to split with someone but depending on how much they take I may be able to spare some of that too.
SO once I get all this put away I will take a picture of my 2 "fur rooms" to show off my whole hoard, I now have approximately 700 yards of fake fur total.
NOTE: that hot pink seal fur at the bottom of the rainbow pile is FOR SALE I have at least 3 yards. Also for sale is that mottled brown by the paw print fur. Both are furs I re-thought buying but they were cut and thus too late to change my mind on.
PS my fave find was that light orange... I have NO IDEA what I am gonna make with it... but I bought 3 yards because the color is so pretty and I have never seen anything like it online in all my years.

hmmm $25 a yard plus shipping?
I need to sit and think for a bit on if I can use it and is I am 100% sure on selling... but right now I do have this "why did I buy this" feel that tells me to sell.
the hot pink on the other hand I want goooooone, I found a better pink for the job right at the end of my trip.

I love that peach fur too! (Peach/apricot/salmon is my fave color!) Hmm, you could make a fairy armadillo, or a rosy footman moth! :D

Ok, nevermind that link; it wouldn't even work when I removed the space...here are two other pics instead (they seem to range in color from very pale orange to a darker salmon; just Google them to see):

This is the color I need (this is part of a photo ref for what I'm making): http://oi57.tinypic.com/30bgz0g.jpg Since it's only a small patch, surrounded by white, should I just paint it on, or will it look better to insert actual peach fur there, and paint around the edges to make it blend in?
if you see this in the green omg get, if I did not hate DF I would order it from them .__. http://www.distinctivefabric.com/fa.....=CURLYALPACE14
I ended up getting the green online, but if you do end up in the fashion district I regret not getting 2 yards of this https://www.etsy.com/listing/125173.....home_active_22
according to my calculations I spent about half what it would have cost to buy and ship all this from online sources.
I bought about 200 yards and I did some poking around using distinctive fabrics dotcom (chosen since they have low to average prices... and horrible customer service mind you and I have quit using them) and a selection of random furs to equal 200 yards got me $5660 plus $431 shipping.
In LA I spent $2425 for all the fur (which is the 220 pounds shown here plus another 44 yards I brought home myself and already put away before this pic) and then I paid just over $500 total to get the fur, that being gas, hotel and shipping.
So just over $3000 vs just over $6000
The change off though is time and effort spent getting the fur, it is easier to get stuff online, and while I saved in money there is no savings to pass to my customers as the difference in price goes into paying me for the time spent planning the trip, the 16 hours I spent in the car, the 10 hours I spent shopping and the uncounted hours of getting this shipped to me, unboxed, rolled up, and put away.
The trip for me was well worth it though, first of all it was a thrill for me to shop, and second the stores have 90% of what you can get online and at least 30% of what I saw I have never seen online ever at all.

Do you happen to have any of the light blue fur? It was used on this suit: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/14015615/
As far as I know, you can only get it there. I need to buy about 3-4 yards of it but I can't find it online anywhere and I don't know anyone who can go get it for me and send it :/
