Drawing an old character for the fun of it, playing with new SAI brush textures. I like this, it's kinda soft looking.
And aha! I do have more than one male character! And he's all femmey because someone had a massive crush on Brian Molko growing up and based a character on his appearance. Wellp.
So, Yuriy Ivanovich Shchepkin, looking inspirationally up at something. Maybe at a clothing repair kit. Psst how are your shoulders not freezing, dude?

"In Russia, we do not freeze. We only adjust to outside temperature."
AND OH MAN. HOW COOL. The texture turned out awesome. Question--how does a texture work? Is it the texture of the "paper" so to speak or something to do with the brush?
(And I know I said I was going to bed but I lied whoops)

A little of both? I set a paper texture and I was also messin' with brush settings. The look of the drawing itself probably had more to do with the custom brushes I was using -- http://darlingmionette.deviantart.c.....ushes-96742060
There's plenty of custom brushes out there for Photoshop! Probably could just google "photoshop custom brushes" and find bunches free to download. They're fun to play with. :)
